My Colors of the Year 2015

The year 2015 is almost over… In many-many ways it was absolutely (!) amazing and successful for me as a starting crochet designer. When I look back I cannot really believe it all happened for real. I decided to make a short summery of the year and what it brought to me.

I am not really a public kind of person and I’ve always preferred to stay in shadow and just to do what I like to do – just to crochet sitting on the gauge in my living room and to create something new. But year 2015 has pulled me out from my small crochet world and gave me lots of publicity, and I still cannot really get used to it :)

It all started with Deramores Blog Competition 2015 where my post about Dandelion Large Square became a runner-up.

My designs were 7 times nominated by The Crochet Awards and 3 of them (Dandelion Mandala, Mint Coffee Mandala and Sunflower Pillowcase) were recognized as best of year 2015.

White Tea Doily RugPinky Mood Pillowcase, Kaleidoscope Mandala Bag and Summer Bracelet with Flower were among the Nominees.

I run my first ever Circles of the Sun CAL in the summer and surprisingly it was followed by so many people. Suddenly my blog got huge amount of views and was brought to an absolutely new level. I updated its design and created a separate section about Overlay Crochet where I gathered all useful information, Tips&Tricks and my understanding of this technique.

And interview with me was published in The Crochet Café and I was invited to become an official blogger for Scheepjes. By the way thanks to this collaboration I started to release more free patterns. And the most popular became North Sea Mandala, Autumn Winds Cowl and Forest Fog Cowl. I’ve surprisingly designed my first knitting sweater - A Blue Feather!

2015 year became very important for me personally as I learned many new tips and tricks (thanks to your support and comments on my Facebook page as well). An unbelievable step ahead for me (as for a person who is VERY bad in all technical questions) was that I learned to create crochet charts. You can find my “tutorial” HERE. It became a hit and seeing your kind support I decided to continue release new Tutorials next year.

Well, what to say… I can hardly believe next year can be more successful for me… And to be honest I am not waiting for something special. I am happy I can do what I love to do. I am happy I can share my creations with you. And I am happy to be back to my small crochet world again.

Happy New Year!!

  6. I've just discovered your Circles of the Sun CAL, but alas, I'm a year too late. I may try making it this year, but I'm wondering if there's a place to download a pattern for all the parts in one unit?

    1. Hello Kate! Unfortunately there is no one pdf for all the parts as a whole. But you can use a Print Friendly button under each post to print it out.
