Having been at a friends house a few month prior to this, my friend (a craft writer) had been crocheting and I recalled how fantastic I thought her work was and how relaxing it looked. So, with new determination I decided crochet was going to be my saviour!
So hooks and wool bought I spent weeks and weeks practicing all the basic stitches - rows and rows, back and forth. YouTube and books - fantastic! Then when I felt I could try something the granny square was the obvious choice - right?
Well I nearly wept after my first attempt - it was clear pattern reading skills needed to be honed too - it was terrible. Still determined I practiced and practiced - and finally I made something that looked reasonably like a granny square!! I was so happy I felt I could conquer the world!! Within a year I was making "Circles of the Sun".
If I struggle with a pattern now and start to feel despondent, I take out my bag of practice pieces and remind myself of the fantastic journey I have had - and how that 1 granny square opened a whole new world for me (and has helped keep my hands away from my skin!). I love granny squares!AnneinHollandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08437145711730693808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6050225546724228862.post-34919184776768418272018-09-23T18:58:18.307+02:002018-09-23T18:58:18.307+02:00I love making them because they can be very differ...I love making them because they can be very different, colorful, and exciting.
