#YarnAddiction: here is Whirl again!

Are you addicted to yarn? I would not say that about myself, probably… Though I have lots of yarns in two big closets, and also in plastic boxes, and in paper boxes too… Oh, and some yarn in a rattan chest. And something more in a drawer… And I will definitely not use all these yarns in my life. And I keep bringing new skeins from my trips. Well, ok, yes! I am probably addicted to yarn! But I noticed there is one particular yarn to which I come back again and again. And it’s Whirl by Scheepjes*.

Released not so long ago it has become a great success, because indeed this yarn is unique in several ways. The cake is huge! It’s 1000m and it’s enough for a shawl, scarf or small garment. And I proved it myself by making Whirl Mandala Cardigan which is good for S to L sizes (find a free crochet pattern HERE).

Why else is Whirl unique? Each cake contains one long and very soft color change, and I would stress the word “soft”. I have seen similar yarns by other brands, and they just offer several colors within one skein – and you can absolutely reach the same effect by just joining several skeins in different shades together.

Yes, it’s true there are other yarns with soft gradient color changes, and often they are “art craft yarns” or whatever you call it. But they are often quite splitty. And Whirl is not splitty at all! I know that may sound as an ad, but I can’t do anything as I am truly in love with this yarn. So much in love that I’ve just completed my third garment design.

I’ve already tried Liquorice Yumyum (751) and Blueberry Bambam (755) shades. And this time I chose Green Tee Tipple (754) which proved to be one of the most popular: once in stock at Wool Warehouse it is always sold out pretty fast. Just to remind you Whirl comes in 12 shades, and recently 3 more shades have been launched with release date on May 11. Want to know more about Whirl? Check my detailed review HERE.

I was happy to get my own 2 cakes of Green Tea Tipple for a new project which I will not tell you about right now :) Excited? Come back to my blog next week to see sneak peeks.

p.s. Whirl yarn is available in your local Scheepjes shop and at Wool Warehouse* (UK with international shipping).
