Everblue Shawl make-a-long: PART 1

Welcome to PART 1 of the Everblue Shawl make-a-long! Today we will begin with the mesh body. If you are using Scheepjes Whirl and Whirlette yarns, you can start either with Whirl or Whirlette, depending on which effect you would like to achieve. And then you have an option whether to start with the inside or outside tail of the Whirl. The first rows of the shawl are short, so the first color you choose will cover the bigger space of the top of the shawl and will influence its final look. The pattern comes with written instructions and the chart, and I highly recommend you to try and follow the chart, as it will be much easier to keep up with the instructions and the stitch counts. Please, note, that the pattern below uses US crochet terms. Hope you enjoy!

How to read Shawl Body Chart

The chart is read bottom to top. Each row represents 1 row on one side of Shawl. Ch2 along left side indicate cnr ch2-sps. Every row begins with ch3, which does not count as a st and is not shown on chart. Follow chart until cnr, then cont in opposite direction to mirror same st patt for second side.

To view the chart in full size, click on it to open in a new window.

Next week we will continue with the bottom mosaic panel. See you next Wednesday!
