Winter Scandi mystery make-a-long: Announcement

Following the success of last years Not a Christmas CAL, I have decided to design something exciting for you this year as well. The days are becoming cooler, we even had some snow a week ago (melted away already). The evenings are long. It’s time for lighting candles, snuggling into the blankets, time for hot tea or chocolate.
Let me introduce a Winter Scandi make-a-long. It will start next week on December 7th, 2021 and will run for three weeks with a new project revealed on my blog every Tuesday. The make-a-long will be a mystery one, so you will not know what is coming. A little surprise. Like an unwrapping gift from a friend 😊  As the last year, Scandi Winter make-a-long will again include projects in different techniques: overlay, embossed and brioche crochet. The designs are versatile, and can be used for a variety of projects, like coasters, placemats, pillows, rugs, table runners and even the blankets. Depending on which type and weight of yarn you will choose and which hook size.  The projects for Winter Scandi make-a-long were inspired by the timeless Scandinavian design. And I picked soothing colors for mine.

WHAT

Three crochet patterns for winter home decorations in different crochet techniques: overlay, brioche and embossed crochet. A nice opportunity to learn something new and make last-minute gifts for your loved ones.  The patterns are available in English only with US crochet terms.

WHEN

Winter Scandy mystery make-a-long will begin next week, on December 7th, 2021. And then every new pattern will be released weekly.

WHO

Everyone who loves crochet, knows basic stitches and wants to learn something new.

HOW

This make-a-long is a paid one and will run on Ravelry only. I know many of you are used to Etsy, but unfortunately this platform doesn’t allow adding the files with automatic update. To participate in the MAL you will need to purchase instructions on Ravelry HERE. UPDATE: all three patterns are now available also on Etsy HERE.
The MAL has not started yet, and a pre-order is running right now. First pattern will be added to your Ravelry library next Tuesday, December 7th, 2021. The patterns will be offered at a reduced price during the time of the MAL through December 31, 2021 and then will be updated to a full price.  Official support for this CAL will be offered in my Facebook group HERE where I will be happy to see all your pictures! Join now our friendly community with 29K members. Please, be aware that you will have to answer a simple question upon a sing up. Without answering it your request will not be approved.

WHAT YOU NEED

To participate in the Winter Scandi MAL you will need yarn of your choice, a crochet hook, and your happy mood :)  TIMELINE: Part 1 - Embossed Mandala Part 2 - Brioche Pillow Part 3 - Overlay Mandala

    1. I believe this is a technical error. The patterns are marked as English with US terms. I added this to the description as well.

  4. Hi there,

This will be my first Mystery CAL - is it possible to get estimates on yarn needed so I can order supplies before it begins?

    1. The yardages will depend on which project you would like to make. The same pattern can be used for small or big projects. So once you see the pattern, you will decide on the yarn and yardages. I designed this MAL with the idea of using up your stash.

  6. Здравствуйте! А на русском языке у Вас есть описание в книге? Смогу ли я связать вещь без знания английского языка?
