Rozeta CAL: Week 2

Hello and welcome to Week 2 of Rozeta CAL 2019. To be honest I was a little bit nervous about the previous week when we only started. I know some of you have never tried tapestry crochet before and I was anxiously waiting for the first Rozeta flowers to pop up in my social media feeds. But you did just great! I love seeing all the beautiful and unique color combinations. And I love watching your Rozeta flowers grow.

This week we will continue to work with the tapestry. So all important notes and tricks from Part 1 will be valid this week as well. Please check a detailed photo tutorial below and pay extra attention to the notes. They will help you to avoid mistakes. And will prevent you from frogging.

The first part was relatively fast to make. It was aimed to warm you up a bit and give you enough time to master tapestry crochet and polish your gauge. The next parts will become longer and more intense. And I hope you will have lots of fun!

If this is the first time you hear about Rozeta, please check General Information HERE and a photo-tutorial for Special Stitches and Techniques HERE. Find Part 1 here.

Find complete written instructions on the Scheepjes website HERE. And don’t forget to check videos by Esther of It’s All in A Nutshell: UK right-handedUK left-handedNL right-handedNL left-handed.

PHOTO-TUTORIAL

Round 15. The tapestry pattern continues to flow. We are working with Yarn D now. Please, note that the first 2 dc (US terms here and throughout) are made in the first stitch as join.

Round 16. The pattern continues to flow with an unusual color change at the end of the repeat.

Round 17. Nothing unusual happens in this round.

Round 18. Pay extra attention to the end of the round. After final ss, you should end up in the first stitch with Yarn A.

Round 19. The very first dc2tog of this round is made over the same stitch as ss and next stitch. For an easy count, please make sure you make the first dc2tog over first 2 stitches in Yarn A. The rounds again will be joined in the same way as at the beginning of the mandala – you should change to Yarn A at the end of the last repeat.

Round 20. At the end of this round change to Yarn E (for Colour Crafter version only).

Round 21. We will continue with Yarn E for the Colour Crafter version. Because the pattern is becoming more detailed, the repeats in the written instructions are getting longer. Don’t be scared. Just continue following them word by word as you did it before.

Round 22. After this round is completed, you will have visible waves on the edge. This is normal!

Round 23.

Round 24.

Round 25. There are three small color changes inside every repeat. Please, pay attention to them.

Round 26. There are no unusual changes in the colors on this round. The pattern continues to flow smoothly. Don’t forget to cut contrast yarn at the end of this round.

Congratulations!! You have just completed week 2 of the Rozeta CAL! See you next week.

  1. Thank you so much for the photo tutorial. Love working on it (I'm the insane person in the US trying to do all the colorways in color crafter).

  3. I’m doing mine using Scheepjes Merino Soft DK, and the yarn I’m carrying is hidden on the wrong side but shows quite a lot on the right side, any suggestions on how I can amend this will be gratefully received, the fabric in lying flat so I’m loathe to change to a smaller hook, HELP, !!! I’ve been following you since circles of the sun and love your work, you must be thrilled with the response.

  4. I keep forgetting I can check your blog for pics!! I do love that the pattern is condensed and I don't need to print off 100 pages though. I've added a reminder ☺ I love this pattern. Im also working on the Indigo Shrug and Grinda is next in line. Its definitely the Tatsiana show here at the moment. Thank you for all the amazing patterns.
